This area is well renowned for its superb brass and metal products as well as its craftsmanship dating back to the early 1600’s AD. Takaoka still remains the hub of many highly skilled artisans and designers which continue to develop a wide range of metal products in the traditional Tokugawa-era metalsmith style.
